Delphi

Delphi, Greece – 2016. Delphi is an ancient sanctuary where the oracle of Apollo spoke. It was the site of the omphalos, the 'navel of the world'. It is on the south-western slope of Mount Parnassus. As an indication of its importance in the ancient Greek world most of the important ancient Greek city-states built monuments at the site. In the 6th century B.C Delphi the religious centre and symbol of unity of the ancient Greek world. Delphi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
